Groups of around six to eight meet at the host’s home, which varies each month. If there are enough people there could be more than one group at a time, and the group members are moved around so you get to meet up with different members each month. It’s not just for couples.

The host is responsible for the main course – and the washing up! Someone brings the starter, and someone else brings dessert. If it happens to be a larger group, there is always the option of a cheese course. Everyone brings their own drinks so that it does not become too onerous for the host.

It should be a relaxed evening, as much about the company as the food. Cook a la Master Chef if you wish, but if you can’t cook or don’t wish too, there’s nothing wrong with something simple.
