Who We Are
u3a - The University of the 3rd Age was founded in 1982 and is a unique and exciting organisation which is one of the largest membership organisations in the UK with over 430,000 members via 1000+ local charities.
The University of the 3rd Age (u3a) for Sutton Bridge, Long Sutton and the surrounding area was successfully launched on 24th April 2017, for those who are retired or semi-retired. Our first General Meeting was held on 6th June 2017 at The Curlew Centre, Sutton Bridge when people could pay a subscription and put their name down to join interest groups.
u3a Sutton Bridge is part of the national u3a movement, which brings people together to learn for pleasure and enjoy life in good company.
Our group is run by members for members. Everyone brings their own experiences, skills and interests, and together we create a lively programme of activities. Some groups are more social, others more learning-focused and many are a mix of both.
You don't need any special knowledge to join in - just a willingness to get involved and enjoy meeting new people.
