Please revisit our group pages to see the new plans that are being put in place for the remainder of 2021 and into 2022, or contact Group Leader John Blake for up to date information.

TABLE TENNIS

Table tennis, ping-pong, whiff-whaff, or “gossima”? Call it what you will, the name of the game is simple good fun, and great exercise for body and mind!

As soon as eight members had signed-up, we felt we had the basis for a group, and definitely enough enthusiasm to start playing. Now, with many sessions under our belts, we know we’re on to a winner!

Abilities range from the absolute beginner who has never played before, to the experienced campaigner wanting to recapture the thrill of competition, and all levels in between.

We meet twice monthly at the Peele Centre in Long Sutton, where we’ve found the staff to be helpful and the facilities just what we need. For a £2 per person contribution, we have use of up to four tables. The centre also provides bats and balls, which is perfect for those who just want to give table tennis a try without having to pay out for equipment.

Please do consider joining us, and see why we’re having such a good time. By all means come along for a taster session to find out if this is something you’d like to pursue. If you’re anything like us, you’ll end the session with a smile on your face, looking forward to the next time!
